B.R.M. refait un tour de Gulf

Si l’on ne peut pas reprocher quelque chose à Bernard Richards, c’est sa constance ! Depuis bientôt 10 ans, BRM poursuit sa route, fidèle à son positionnement ‘sport auto’ depuis le premier jour.

Au sein de ses collections aux noms évocateurs (V8, V12, V14 et autres consonances asphaltiques), une ligne à part suit son propre chemin : la Gulf, dont BRM est dépositaire de la licence (Gulf fut une écurie de renom née à la fin des années 60, du nom de son principal sponsor, la compagnie pétrolière Gulf Oil).

Marque dans la marque, « Gulf » est une finition qui peut, potentiellement, s’appliquer à n’importe quel modèle.  Son identité visuelle est invariablement composée de bleu clair et d’une bande centrale orange.

Cinq modèles avaient déjà reçus ces honneurs, un sixième voit  aujourd’hui le jour, la SD-41. C’est une nouveauté intéressante car, jusqu’à présent, seuls les boitiers ronds étaient concernés par la finition Gulf.

Avec ce modèle carré au traitement racing, évidemment, on ne peut s’empêcher de penser à la TAG Heuer Monaco. Toutefois, la comparaison s’arrête là, car BRM apporte un soin très personnel au boitier et à ses éléments constitutifs (visserie, cornes, etc.).

En effet, BRM n’utilise pas de boitier étampé d’une seule pièce, cornes comprises, mais procède au contraire à un usinage différent pour le boitier, puis pour les cornes. L’opération est plus complexe, mais permet à la marque d’assembler différents matériaux de différentes couleurs sur une même boîte : boîtier en titane avec corne inox, boîtier poli et inox brossé, etc.

Avec 200 pièces, cette SD-41 Gulf, qui reprend toutes ces caractéristiques, est une pièce à la forte personnalité, qui s’affirme aussi bien par la puissance globale de son design que par la finition de chacun de ses détails.

La SD-41 Gulf est déjà disponible pour 200 pièces au prix conseillé de 7100 euros.
